The Microwave Magic Series contains exciting activities that focus on using the microwave to prepare everything from simple snacks to complete meals. You engage in activities that help you understand how the microwave works, learn to use safely, prepare foods, understand watts, practice advanced microwave techniques such as shielding, defrosting and browning, adapting recipes, and blanching fruits, nuts and vegetables. You also learn to make jams and jellies, sugarless carrot cake, meal planning for the microwave, and the benefits of microwaving your foods. To complete this project each year you should complete a minimum of three activities from a different “bite” category per level. Within three years you should have completed at least one activity from each of the four “bite categories. You should also do an action demonstration at the club/school or county level.
