    Director, Arizona 4-H Youth Development
    Kirk A. Astroth is the director of the Arizona 4-H Youth Development program and has more than 30 years of experience working with young people of all ages. As a former school teacher, camp counselor, and 4-H specialist in 3 states, Kirk has a passion for "making the best better." Kirk as previous experience as a 4-H volunteer, and helped re-start 4-H programs in Latvia and Lithuania after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Kirk has published extensively on the critical elements of positive youth development, vibrant youth groups, and youth development scholarship. Kirk served as chairman of the Montana Childrens Trust Fund for 6 years and has been president of the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents and the Joint Council of Extension Professionals.

    Program Coordinator - James 4-H Camp at Mingus Springs Kristin serves as Camp Director, providing daily oversight and guidance to the implementation of our business plan, working in concert with the facilities manager and local Extension liaison. She brings more than 7 years of experience in conducting and managing camps and outdoor education programs. Kristin has a master’s degree from the University of Arizona’s School of Natural Resources and the Environment.

    Administrative Assistant to the director of the Arizona 4-H Youth Development program. Serves as the Collegiate 4-H Club adviser since 2009. Job responsibilities include; Drupal web site administrator, 4-H publication support, Elluminate audio conference call set up, 4-H Charter certification, IRS / EIN application, U of A Cat Card application process for counties, and Arizona 4-H office support. Support state activities: Shooting Sports Education State Match, Shooting Sports Education Certification course, J.O.L.T. (Journey : Opportunities for Leaders of Tomorrow, AZ 4-H Youth foundation Scholarships and Arizona State Horse Show. Support National 4-H events: National 4-H, Congress, National 4-H Conference, National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational.

    Responsibilities include the organization and logistics related to specific subject matter activities, programs and events at a departmental, state, western regional and national level for Cooperative Extension and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. National 4-H activities include National 4-H Congress, Citizen Washington Focus (CWF), National 4-H Conference, Western Round Up and National Shooting Sports Tournament. Some state level activities include JOLT (Journey: Opportunities for Leaders of Tomorrow), Shooting Sports Education Certification, County Extension Directors Meetings, 4-H Agents Meetings, CALS Faculty Conference and CALS Staff In-Service. Also maintains the 4-H list serve.

    Arizona Operation: Military Kids is a collaborative program effort between Arizona 4-H Youth Development and our military and community partners across Arizona. Arizona OMK to reaches geographically dispersed military youth (All Branches of Service - National Guard - Reserves - Active) throughout Arizona and salutes military kids for their bravery. At the heart of Arizona’s programming efforts and outreach are the following programs: Speak Out Military Kids Speaker's Bureaus, OMK Military Youth-Focused Deployment Support Events, Mobile Technology Lab Events, Ready Set Go! Trainings, OMK Hero Pack Deployment Support Programs and a variety of OMK Local Partner Events with various military and community partners throughout Arizona.     Manasi Mallard Program Assistant, Lead Responsibilities include recruiting, coordinating, and mentoring AmeriCorps VISTA members for the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension VISTA Project. Manasi also helps organize national days of service, professional development opportunities, and team-building activities for VISTA members, in addition to reporting data and impact stories, publishing quarterly newsletters, and managing the UACE VISTA Blog.

    International Japanese Exchange Program
    Erin is a volunteer who has had previous experience organizing International programs and she is currently working with our Arizona International Exchange program recruiting families to host through the LEX International program. She has also organized orientation activities for the Japanese students who are staying with host families for a month stay in Arizona this summer. She is the contact person to connect with the host families and complete a homestay check with each family who signs up to host our Japanese exchange delegates.

    Matthew assists the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and Arizona 4-H offices. He edits and updates the 4-H website, Arizona Cooperative Extension website and is responsible for data entry for 4-H programs as well as ongoing office duties for both 4-H and extension. He is a member and the Treasurer of the University of Arizona Collegiate 4-H Club for the Spring 2013 Semester.
