The 2011 4-H Shooting Sports National Invitational will be held June 19-24 in San Antonio Texas. For all of the details go to: www.4-hshootingsports.org
Participation in the National Invitational is open to 4-H members who have passed their 14th birthday by January 1, 2011 and who have not passed their 19th birthday before January 1, 2011. Participants must have been 4-H members in good standing in Arizona before October 1, 2010 as well as being current members. Members may participate only once in any discipline.
Initial team selection is based on the results of the 2010 Arizona 4-H Shooting Matches. Teams that have the right to go to the National Invitational based on the match results are:
Muzzle Loading Rifle: the Pima County Team of Jacob Riederer, Jonathan Riederer, Ryan Sears, and Ben Jackson.
Air Rifle: the Pinal County Team of Allie Marie Luginbuhl, Taran Homol, and Stephen Shedd. The first place individual, Jacob Webber will also be on the Arizona Air Rifle Team.
Recurve Archery: the Pima County Team of: Myles Gallagher, Preston Gallagher, and Scarlett Gallagher.
Teams in the remaining disciplines (smallbore rifle, smallbore pistol, air pistol, shotgun, compound archery, and hunting) will be established by order of individual finish in the Arizona 2010 Matches or self-nomination. If there are more than 4 desiring to go an equitable means to select the team will be used.
